1. Journeyman Roofer
           Job Summary: Residential Repair Roofer

Must have hands-on repair experience. Must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to interface with all level of customers and coworkers, show up to work on time daily, and be a self-starter.

TERRITORY

Will primarily include Douglas County.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Responsible for diagnosing leaks, providing estimates and performing repairs, customer service, follow-ups.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Critical Competencies and Skills:

• Communication skills – effective oral and written communication skills including the correct usage of business English, grammar, and punctuation.
• Organization skills – Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Problem solving skills in order to be creative with some repairs.
• Self-motivated
• Knowledge of building materials essential.
• Ability to use tact and skill in dealing with other staff, vendors, and customers.
• Must have ability to handle multiple tasks in a high stress environment.
• Must be able to work the assigned schedule and comply with the company’s attendance policy.

  Physical Requirements:

• Must have the hand/eye coordination necessary to operate construction tools, office business machines (calculator, phone, fax, copier, etc.) and a personal computer.
• Hearing and speech sufficient to verbally communicate in person and on the telephone.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be able to ascend and descend on ladders.
• Must be able to walk on roofs of homes (1 and 2 story) for roof inspection/repair.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperature conditions (i.e., heat, snow, ice).
• Must have the ability to drive and safely operate a vehicle.
• Occasional overnight travel required.

Responsibilities and Duties

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Primary responsibilities will be to diagnose leaks, provide estimates and repair leaks
• Quality control checks on installations and set up ladders for final inspections
• Support installers as needed
• Perform hail inspections
• Meet with potential clients and discuss options for roof repairs and replacements
• Roof types will include asphalt, tile, metal, and EPDM

Qualifications and Skills

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• 5 years minimum Roofing Repair experience
• Considerable knowledge of the methods and practices involved in construction of roofing systems
• Considerable knowledge of possible defects in roofing systems and of effective corrective measures
• Considerable knowledge preferred in all roof types, including asphalt, tile, metal and EPDM roof systems.
• Effectively communicate in English
• Meet with homeowners to inspect and provide estimates for repairs
• Schedule appointments with homeowners in a timely manner
• Compile material list needed for repair work, pick up materials and perform roof repair work
• Verify with homeowner that work is completed to their satisfactio
• Maintain accurate records and submit all paperwork to office in a timely fashion
• Must have a valid driver license and have clear driving record for company vehicle insurance purposes.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to interface with all level of customers and coworkers
• Attend periodic meetings
• Clean service truck to keep in presentable fashion. Alert management of necessary maintenance needs.
